Mango Turmeric Smoothie

Try this super-antioxidant mango smoothie that's great for glowing skin and boosting immunity.

For many years, I avoided fruits like mango because I thought they were too high in sugar… So often, I worried about what not to eat and didn’t focus on giving my body the best possible nutrition. After researching, I realized that mangoes are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, so I decided to incorporate mangoes along with other superfoods (turmeric, ginger, and coconut) in my morning smoothie. Check out my go-to recipe below.

 

How to Make it

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 mango peeled and cubed

  • 1 cup orange juice

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (canned or carton, I use the carton version)

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1-inch piece of ginger peeled and minced finely (optional)

  • 1 pinch ground pepper (optional)

Instructions:

1. Add the orange juice, coconut milk, mangoes, turmeric powder, ginger to the blender. Starting the blender on a low speed, blend until smooth. If needed gradually increase to higher speeds and blend until smooth.

2. Blend and enjoy!


Tips & Variations:

  • Fat increases the bioavailability of curcumin (turmeric), so using coconut milk helps your body with absorption.

  • Piperine found in ground pepper also increases the bioavailability of curcumin (turmeric) by 2000%.
